01

How aligners work

The practice uses ClearPath aligners. Your teeth are scanned and the whole movement is planned before a single tray is made. You then wear a sequence of trays, each one slightly different from the last, changing to the next every week or two.

They come out to eat and to brush, which is the practical difference from fixed braces: nothing is off the menu, and cleaning your teeth stays exactly as easy as it is now.

02

ClearPath, an alternative to Invisalign

If you have been searching for Invisalign in Islamabad, ClearPath is a clear-aligner system that works the same way: a series of removable, near-invisible trays, planned from a scan of your teeth, each moving them a little further. Smile Line is a certified ClearPath provider; we do not offer Invisalign.

The manufacturer, ClearPath Orthodontics, describes its aligners as FDA-registered.

03

What they are good at, and what they are not

Aligners handle crowding, spacing, mild relapse after old orthodontic work, and most of the cosmetic cases people come in asking about.

They are not the answer to everything. Significant skeletal discrepancies and some bite corrections still need fixed braces, and a case like that planned as an aligner case will disappoint everyone. Which of the two you need is the first thing the assessment settles — and the practice offers both, so the answer is not decided by what happens to be on the shelf.

04

Wearing them properly is the whole thing

Aligners work at around twenty to twenty-two hours a day. They are removable, which is their advantage and their one risk: a tray in a pocket is not moving anything.

Patients who treat them as something worn all day except at meals finish on schedule. It is worth being honest with yourself about that before starting, and we would rather say so now than at month four.

05

Who plans the case

Aligner treatment here is planned by a certified ClearPath provider, with a consultant orthodontist — Professor and Head of Orthodontics at HITEC — available for the cases that need a specialist opinion rather than a tray sequence.

Common questions

  • Most cases run six to eighteen months depending on how far the teeth have to move. You will be given the expected number of trays at the planning stage, so the timeline is known before you commit.

  • They are clear and they fit closely, so at conversational distance most people do not notice them. They are not literally invisible — someone looking for them will see the edges.

  • The first day or two of each new tray feels tight, which is the tray doing its job. It settles quickly, and most patients describe it as pressure rather than pain.

  • You wear a retainer. Teeth drift back toward where they started if nothing holds them, and this is the part people skip and then regret — retention is not an optional extra at the end, it is part of the treatment.

  • No. Smile Line is not an Invisalign provider. We offer ClearPath aligners, which work the same way: your teeth are scanned, the movement is planned in advance, and you wear a series of clear removable trays, changing to the next one every week or two. If you want to compare the two, we are happy to go through what ClearPath involves for your case at your assessment.

  • There is no single answer that holds for every mouth, and we would rather not give you one. What decides whether aligners will work for you is your own case — how far the teeth need to move, and whether the bite needs more than a tray can do. That is assessed by the clinician at your appointment, and if aligners are not the right tool, you will be told so and offered fixed braces instead.
